Shop Signs

A shop sign is often the first thing a new or existing customer will see when passing your premises. Get it right and it can do wonders, get it wrong and you may see potential custom going elsewhere.

There are many different types of systems available today and there is always something to suit all budgets.

One of the key areas in getting your shop sign working for you is the design. This should reflect the business or service you are offering, and ideally it should be branded on everything from you fascia to your vehicle if you use one, your business cards, your web site etc...

You can chose from lightboxes, alluminium trays and panel and frame signs, or you could go for a budget sign, a flex face sign or maybe built up 3 dimensional architectural lettering (please see types of signs for more details)

When planning on a new shop sign, it is a good idea to ask the following:

1. Will you need planning permission?
It is up to the client to arrange all planning permission
and if you are looking at a new sign system that is illuminated
or different than the existing system please allow time for planning.

2. Will you remove the existing sign or will require the sign fitters to do this?
Prices for removal and legal disposal of an old fascia may vary
depending upon the size, weight or material used.

3. When the existing sign is removed will there be any damage ie rot,
unsafe brickwork etc.... behind it?

If there is this is more than likely to add cost to the fitting so it is wise to allow a little
extra to cover any problems that can occur. At iD Signs we will happily
work with your builder or shop fitter / carpenters / electricians if this helps
you to keep the budget in control.

4. What is your budget?
It may sound obvious, but if you have a budget to work to this can
greatly speed up the whole process for designing your new fascia. We can also
offer finance over a set period, full details on request

5. What design should you go for?
Do you have an existing design, if so this should be the first step in
the procedure. iD Signs can offer a full design service to you.
